Jury Duty

Lasted only one day.....thank the good sweet lord. ;) I almost ended up as an alternate but happily was released after the last round of questions from the defense attorney. At least it was only local court this time instead of the federal district court summons I had been getting from Greensboro and Winston-Salem.

The ultimate diet.....
Sep. 24th, 2009 | 10:04 am
Need to shed a few pounds....limit yourself to a 2000mg salt a day diet. Low saturated/trans fat is also a must along with three balanced meals a day and at least one snack. If that doesn't knock out about 75% of what you eat normally I would be very surprised. I think I'm being too modest about the percent of food that would get knocked out of a normal diet....the number is probably a lot higher. Forget counting calories as the salt does all the limiting for you.
After nine months of the household being on this program (well close to this program...it's more like 3 balanced meals and 2 snacks) I must say it's quite effective. Brace for salt shock as you have to check everything....and I do mean everything....drinks, sweets, all ingredients...ect ect.

Healthy food and salt content

Why exactly does the "healthy" foods seem to be higher in salt than the reg versions...or just high in salt in general. Taste probably...if you are cutting back on fat and sugar you up the salt I suppose. Still I did crack up when I picked up a loaf of 100% whole wheat bread that was 180mg salt a slice. Bread is high salt in general but it's usually more like 130....this is of course why I bake our breads lol.
Anywho....when you are on a lovely 2000mg salt a day diet (low sat fat and balanced meals as well) those extra 50 to 60mg really add of quick. It's a trend that I see in a ton of foods...crackers, meat substitutes (all the Morningstar stuff has a ton of salt)....even those lovely Egg Beaters are packed with salt...ect ect. There's no lack of low fat items but there sure is a lack of readily avail low salt items. (I'm talking actual low salt here....not we took 25% of the salt out of our 1800mg usual version...which is still actually super high salt...thinking about soup here of course)
Good to have things to giggle over as I shop through the store. ;)

....he decides to try to surprise you with a shot to the neck. Here's a little hint....a local to the neck area is not something you spring on a person. ;)
I personally think he took some hints from dentists in the lingering department as well. Just inject and go please don't dawdle. Oh and I could do without smelling my own skin burning though as the biopsy site was cauterized. Please don't stop burning the hell out of my skin to ask if I need another shot...just finish the hell up...kk tnks. ;)
